A brief summary of big uni projects

Maybe (but rather unlikely) you may have wondered what we have been and still are doing at university. Well, there is a an actual conference called SCARP (School Conference for Annual Research Projects) held by our faculty and everybody is very welcome to turn up and enjoy the projects and results we have come up with. I have had the honor and joy to take part in two of these conference, one in third year and one in my fourth and final year. Every student had to prepare a paper that were to be submitted. Since the conference is coming up soon and the hand-in deadline is on friday I finally finished my latest resumé outlining my entire research project in the briefest form possible.

OpenCV and Freenect on Mac OS

For my visual intelligence project in my final year of my Master’s degree, we were asked to develop a program that would utilize the xBox Kinect to detect different objects from a training set. Since we were given two 6GB folders full of training and testing data with frustratingly little guidance, I decided to write a little post.
